Civil engineer and Master in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University (United States).

Throughout her career, Mrs. Silvia Caro has received more than 15 awards and recognitions for her work, has participated as a keynote speaker at academic events, associate editor and member of editorial committees of international journals, technical committees, organizers committees and scientific committees in academic events. As a result of her work, Mrs. Silvia Caro has published more than 110 scientific articles, 55 of them in highly recognized international indexed journals.
