Jo Sias, USA
Professor, UNH; President of the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT); Associate Editor of Road Materials and Pavement Design Journal
Professor Sias’s research focuses on pavements and civil engineering materials, particularly asphalt concrete. She conducts research on recycled materials, aging, and characterization of asphalt materials in the laboratory. She also does forensic evaluation of pavement failures and on the impacts of climate — including climate change and sea level rise – on pavement performance and adaptation.
She is currently the President of the American Association of Asphalt Pavement Technologist (AAPT). She has dozens of publications. Professor Sias can speak to the media about roadway topics, such as asphalt, asphalt concrete, pavements, recycled materials and the effects of climate change and sea level rise on roadways.
